Trevor Parent is taking over the women’s soccer program at UMPI, after three seasons as the assistant for the men’s soccer team. The former men’s soccer most valuable player brings a strong teaching background, a keen working knowledge of the game, and an unquestionable passion for all things UMPI.
Coach Parent has coaching credentials through the Football Association (FA), National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), and the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). His soccer diplomas and certificates, Trevor is also certified through the National Academy of Speed and Explosion.
Beyond Trevor’s involvement with the men’s squad here at UMPI, he has coached soccer from the recreation level straight through to the high amateur ranks. He recently led Dynamite FC to a 2011 championship in the New England Developmental League (Men’s Under 23 League).
Parent resides in Presque Isle with his wife Julie.

Vanessa Pearson joined the Women’s Soccer program as an Assistant Coach in the fall of 2012. She brings a solid soccer foundation, extensive knowledge of leadership development, and a strong loyalty to the UMPI community.
Vanessa has been playing soccer since a young age. She participated in high school, collegiate, and area recreational teams; winning various awards throughout her career. Her experience and passion for the sport provides a unique perspective and coaching philosophy.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Vanessa has an undergraduate degree from Elizabethtown College and a master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
She is the Coordinator of Student Activities and Leadership Development and lives in Presque Isle.
